Mountain Valley Public House (Pub) is a cozy, inviting social gathering place in Danville Virginia’s Historic River District. MVPH is also an independent craft brewery, run by its experienced owner brewers, Herb, John and Karl.

Construction is well underway. The building at 592 Monument St. has been extensively renovated, with a new floor, roof, doors, and windows. The brewery’s internal layout is now complete and finishing work has begun. There is still a ton of work to be done, but we hope to be brewing some fantastic beer soon!

Commitment to Quality
Mountain Valley Public House is deeply committed to producing quality beer. Both of its owner-brewers are passionate about the beer-making process. Both Karl and John have been brewing for over a decade, and over that time their knowledge of the process has been honed by the hundreds of recipes they have brewed. They both appreciate the complexity that is possible even though beer is made from four simple ingredients. Karl and John have different approaches to beer-making. Karl is an experimentalist who loves to push the boundaries of what is possible, and John is a trained research scientist who loves balancing the science and art of brewing beer. Their different styles synergize well and help make MVPH’s beer an exceptional product.
